CHARGE OF THEFT

DIAMOND RINGS TAKEN COMMITTAL OF ACCUSED SYDNEY, July 2G Peter Young, aged 21, formerly of New Zealand, was committed for trial in the Sydney Polioe Court to-day on a charge of having stolen six diamond rings, valued at £65, 011 July 19. Fred Moser, assistant in the city jeweller's shop of Fanny Jacobs, said Young came into the shop and asked to see some diamond rings. While inspecting a tray containing a number of rings he placed a felt tray under his coat and ran away. Mosor gave chase and caught him. The police prosecutor said that Young had arrived in Sydney from New Zealand a year ago with £2OO. Ho had recently Becured work as a writer.
