LOYAL ADDRESS
THE METHODIST CHURCH Expressions of loyalty were made in the address presented to the GovernorGeneral, Viscount Galway, by representatives of the Methodist Church on Wednesday. The Church, which included Maoris and Solomon Islanders, as well as Europeans, the address stated, acknowledged with gratitude to God the influence ior good extended by King George and Queen Mary during the 25 years of His Majesty's reign, and expressed the hope that they would for long continue to occupy their exalted position.
"Permit us to tender to Your Excellency oiir respectful felicitations upon your appointment as Governor-General of this Dominion, and tr> offer to you personally and to Her Excellency a most cordial welcome to New Zealand," the address continued. "We are confident that the mark of your wide influence will be stamped upon the public affairs of this Dominion, and that, like your predecessors, you will experience to the full the affection and good will of the people as a whole. "Wo pray that the blessing of God may rest, upon Your Excellency and Lady Galway and your family during your residenre here, and that under your wise direction the Dominion may advance in material, moral and spiritual strength."
