SCHOOL QUEEN CARNIVAL
The Northcote High Scliool Queen Carnival was launched by a dance in the Parish Hall in aid of Queen Miro, Misti&Karen Jones, of Birkenhead. The conveners, Mrs* A. Neil and Mrs. W. P. Hay, were assisted by a committee comprising Mrs. 1. Dare Jones, Mrs. A. Borrows, Mrs. A. E. Harding and Mrs. W. J. Goad. The sports houses of Miro (captained by Alison Smith) and lainui (by Irvine Neil) were accorded good support for their queen, there being a large attendance. An exhibition of the Russian Gopak was (jiven by Miss Gwen McNaughton. Mrs. E. Barrington Snow was the pianist, and Mr. F. Williams played dance extras.
