CONTROL OF RAGWORT

WAIPA COUNTY'S POLICY [from our own correspondent] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday Months ago the Waipa County Council decided to assume- responsibility for controlling the eradication of ragwort within its area, and in pursuance of this policy has decided to appoint a full-time inspector. A motion that the council should sell sodium chlorate at cost price was rejected by the council, it being contended there were already facilities to obtain supplies i.t low cost. A member of the council stressed the need for prompt action, pointing out that the past three months had been so mild that there was a greater growth of ragwort than he had ever seen in the same months of any previoui year,
