HEALTH OF PROVINCE
*—i ABSENCE OF EPIDEMICS BETTER POSITION THAN USUAL "The general state of health throughout the Auckland Province is undoubtedly good at present, and there is very little serious sickness," said Dr. J. Boyd, medical officer of health at Auckland, last evening. As the result of a recent visit to most of the centres of the province Dr. Boyd was of the opinion that conditions were better than was usual at this time of the year.
"Naturally, there is the usual crop of common cold," Dr. Boyd said, "but. thanks to the mild weather that has been experienced this year, there is less tendency to complications. With the coming of the colder weather of mid-ivinter, greater care will have to be exercised. Again, there is a certain amount of diphtheria, but this is to bo expected at this season. Generally there has been nothing that can bo described as epidemic."
