THE RIFLE BRIGADE

AUCKLAND REUNION The fifth annual reunion of ex-mem-bcrs of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade was held in Prior's Cafe, Strand Arcade, on Saturday evening, Colonel H. E. Barrowclough presiding over an attendance of about 200, representative of all ranks. After remarks by the chairman, the roll was called, and absent friends were honoured. The toast, " The Brigade," was proposed by Mr. D. McPhee, and that to " Kindred Associations " by Mr. C. F. Fowler. Mr. H. A. Mildon, Sir. 'H. Henderson and Mr. W. Pilgrim replied on behalf of the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association, the South African War Veterans' Association, and the Old Contemptibles, respectively. Items were given during the evening bv Mr. W. Hill, Mr. H. Ward, Mr. J. Kindly, Mr. P. McLean, Mr. J. Brown, Mr. W. Rowe, Mr. F. Bourko and an orchestra. The pianist was Mr. Arthur Bree.
