Mr. H. G. R. Mason, M.P. for Auckland Suburbs, returned from the South by the limited express on Saturday.

The Rev. A. R. Wallace, vicar of Uruti, Taranaki, has been appointed vicar of Raglan, and will take up his duties in July.

Sir Alexander Young, Minister 0 f Health, arrived by train yesterday morning from Wellington and left again in the evening by the limited express.

Captain Y. G. Webb* marine superintendent for the Union Steam Ship Company, has been appointed an honorary commander in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Mr. L. Alderton. a member of the Transport Co-ordination Board, left by the limited express last evening to attend sittings of the board at Blenheim and Wellington. .

Mr. G. Mills, Mayor of Birkenhead, has returned from Wellington, where he interviewed the Minister of Employment, the Hon. S. G. Smith, regard-, ing assistance to the Auckland harbour bridge project.

Mr. W. G. Rees-Jones, of Welling« ton, who left for London by the Remuera on Saturday, will represent the New Zealand National Eisteddfod Society at the annual Welsh National Eisteddfod, to be held at Carnarvon in August.
