BANK OF NEW ZEALAND
DIRECTORS TRAVEL ABROAD REASON FOR NEW APPOINTMENT [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Tuesday The absence overseas of directors of the Bank of New Zealand was largely responsible for the appointment to the board ot Mr. A. T. Donnelly, a Christchurch barrister. At present two directors of the bank, Sir Harold Beauchamp and Sir George Elliot, aro travelling overseas. Sir Robert Anderson, who was appointed Government representative on the board of directors some years ago, recently was recommended by his doctors to take a health trip, and his departure from New Zealand meant that .there would be only three directors left in the Dominion, an insufficient number to form a quorum. When this situation was brought to his notice Sir Robert Anderson resigned. The directors now in the Dominion are Messrs. W. Watson, O. Nicholson, R. W. Gibbs and A. T. Donnelly.
