Sunday In a special attempt on his own NewZealand junior boys' 75yds. breaststroke record at the Otago Swimming Centre's jubilee carnival last night, G. Chambers, holder of the national junior boys' breaststroke championship, covered the distance in 58s, lowering the record by 1 l-ss. Walter Jarvis attempted to lower the 100 metres backstroke record, but he was unsuccessful, his time being 73 4-ss, 2-5 of a second outside the record. It was a good performance, considering that Jarvis has never concentrated on this stylo to any extent.
