DEFENCE FORCES

STAFF REARRANGEMENT COLONEL SYMON'S POSITION Several important military appointments and changes, made necessary by the provision of additional coastal defences and other defence activities, have been announced by the Minister of Defence, the Hon. Stedinan, M.C., New Zealand Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of assistant adjutant and quartermaster-general, southern military command, is promoted to be major, and is appointed staff officer in charge No. 10 Regimental District, and brigade major 3rd New Zealand Infantry Brigade. Major W. I. K. Jennings, D.5.0.. N.Z Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of staff officer in charge No. 10 Regimental District, and is appointed assistant adjutant and quarter-master-general, southern military command.

Major K. L. Stewart, N.Z. Staff Corps, relinquishes the appointment of assistant staff-officer in charge No. 11 Regimental District, and is appointed staff officer in charge of that district. In the Regiment of Royal New Zealand Artillery, Lieutenant C. E. Weir has been promoted to be captain.
