CROQUET CLUB AT HOMES

MOUNT EDEN Mrs. W. G. Allen, president of the Mount Eden Croquet Club, entertained a large number of visitors and members at an At Home on Tuesday afternoon. Progressive croquet was played, the successful competitors being:—Al, Mrs. H. Jones; consolation, Mrs. Percy; hidden number, Mrs. Webber; 81, Mrs. Sherriff; consolation, Mrs. Leyton; hidden number, Mrs. Scott. The pavilion was decorated with brilliant autumn flowers, the chrysanthemums and dahlias on the tea tables being very attractive. During the tea adjournment Mrs. Rudd, vice-president of the club, presented to Mrs. Allen, on behalf of the members, a unique crystal electric reading lamp. Mrs. Alien congratulated Mesdames Harrop, Grey and Watson, club members who were successful during the recent Auckland tournaments.

Members of the Auckland Croquet Council present were:—Mesdames Badeley president), Keesing (secretary), Hamilton and Keatley. Also present were: —Mesdames W. G. Allen (president), T. E. Mullins (secretary), Brooks (treasurer), Rudd, Cowie, Findlay, Brown, Jones, Salmon, Sherriff, Hooton, H. Jones, Tucker, Weir, Ballard, C'ornes, Grey, Cotes, Lacey, Norbury, Miller, Watkins, Turner, Watson, Butler, Aitken, Scott, Page, Gardener, Adams, Bain bridge, Marshall, Solon, Harrop, Chadwick, Morrisson, Parrant, Webber, Wyles, W. Turner, Fowler, Leyton, Woods, Percy, Edwards, Dukes, Wallace, Wassell, Fogerty, Haite, Maiden, Taylor, White, Rankin, Johnston, Meuller, Misses Montgomery, Hodge, Halliwell and Wann.

MALVERN A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at the Farmers' Tea Rooms on Tuesday, when Mrs. Young, president of the Malvern Croquet Club, entertained members and friends.
