Preceding the monthly meeting of the board of directors of the Y.W.C.A. Mrs. K. O'Halloran conducted a devotional session in the prayer room. With Mrs. A. D. Campbell presiding, the directors passed a large amount of financial and routine business which had been under review.

The preliminary plans for a public finance appeal are in the hands of the men's advisory board, and it was stated that Miss E. Scott, of the Wellington Y.W.C. A., would arrive on May 1 to act as campaign secretary. The terms of <?o-operation with the Y.M.C.A. in the street collection to be held in Juno were submitted and approved, .. | ' '■ V?' The general secretary advised that a study circle on leadership was being arranged for secretaries and board members, conducted by Miss E. M. Gritfen, M.A., for a period of six weeks. Miss J. Thompson had asked for some training in social work and a plan for practical experience in three departments had been drawn up for her. It was resolved that Mrs. J. Kealy and Mrs. G. Wildish be appointed to the senior department committee and Miss Morgan to the servico committee. A resolution of sympathy with Mrs. T. Clark in her recent bereavement was passed by the board.
