THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE lower price for sugars Although increased business was done on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday, the turnover remained below the average. As evidence of the weakness in Australian industrials. Colonial Sugars were released at £4O 7s 6d, which is £1 2s 6d less than £he salo price 10 days ago. The demand for tho 4 per cent Government loans was somewhat stronger. Sellers operated.in tho stock issues only and a parcel of 1919 stock changed bands 7s Gd higher at £IOB 17s 6d. Rural bonds wero done at £lO3, a fall of £2 5s on the cum interest price. Banks had a steady inquiry, while quotations fluctuated without showing a definite trend. The only sale was in New Zealand?, unchanged at 48s 6d. Improved support was given to South British Insurance. Two parcels were placed unchanged at 95s 6d, but more were unobtainable at that price, which represented a- rise of 6d in offers. In addition to Colonial Sugars, other Australian issues to change hands included British Tobaccos, 2d lower at 365, and Dunlop-Perdriaus. Id lower at 17s' 5d There was also a transfer in Toohey's Brewery at 275, tho last sale being at 25s in October. 1933. In loan and agency, Farmers'. Auctioneering B preference were done 3d dearer at 21s 6d. New Zealand Drug and Wilsons Cement were placed at current rates.
