TO-DAY'S WOOL SALE
j SEASON NEARINGr END I OFFERING OF 12,209 BALES 1 ■ FIRM TONE ANTICIPATED The last sale of tho Auckland wool season will commence at nine o'clock this morning in the Town Hall concert chamber, when 12,209 bales will be offered. A very representative bench of buyers is expected to operate, and growers look forward to a repetition of the comparatively healthy tone that ruled at the recent Wellington and Napier sales. Generally, it is expected that prico levels will remain at least firm at recent rates and a good disposal should result. Large quantities of wool remain in tho stores and will not be offered, growers preferring to speculate on an improved demand at some later day. Yesterday buyers were busy completing the valuation of the clips and from the closeness of the scrutiny there should bo keen competition to-day. Tour More Sales in Dominion The quantities to bo offered by the [various brokers and the order of sale are as follows:- ' . , Bale 3 Abraham and "Williams . • •• Alfred' Buckland arid Sons... 430 Earners' Go : op. A number of farmers make it their practice to sell at. tho third sale, and, although naturally there will bo more seedy clips than at the first sale of the 'season, tho quality generally should prove attractive to buyers. At tho first Auckland sale the catalogue limit was 25,000 bales, but only 17,659 were offered, of which 11,299 wese sold. The second sale . brought 24,755 bales out of a total possible of 25,000. Of these, 20,668 were sold, making a total disposal in the two sales of 31,967. Tho total value of the wool sold in the two sales was £256,346.
