USE OF TEAR GAS
MR. CHURCHILL'S QUESTION REPLY BY MINISTER LONDON. March 20 deferring in the House of Commons to the, Karachi trouble Mr. Winston Churchill asked why tear-gas bombs were not used to disporse the excited crowds, as was done in the United States. The Secretary of State for India, Sir Samuel Hoare, said the Indian Government had considered that method and had used it in the Punjab. He was confident that the troops and police l'n Karachi would deal with the situation in the best way.
