ACTION BY THE POLICE CONVICTION' OF A YOUTH [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION]" CHRISTCHURCH, Thursday "There has been a lot of troublo at dances held in country, districts, with disturbances and bad language, and we intend to put such behaviour down with a firm hand," said Sub-Inspector McLean in the Police Court to-day, when Leo diaries Streeter,' a youth aged 18, was charged with using obscene language at Halswell, and also with being drunk. "I had a similar case to deal with yesterday in another country district," said the magistrate, Mr. E. D. Mosley. The sub-inspector said that there had been complaints about bchatiour at dances at Halswell, and tho hall was visited by a constable. The accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon in six months.
