SNOW PLOUGH WANTED
NATIONAL PARK AREA KEEPING ROADS CLEARED The need of a snow plough for clearing roads in the National Park area after snow storms was stressed by the touring manager of the Automobile Association (Auckland), Mr. R. E. Champtaloup, at last night's meeting of the council of the association.
"The very heavy snow experienced in the National Park area last winter drew attention to the lack of means of clearing the road after snow storms," he said. Last year two patrols required leave owing to the strain of working in the snow area. A recommendation that the Main Highways Board should be urged to equip the district with a snow plough or other suitable means of keeping the main highways cleared was adopted.
