Miss Helen Barker, Christchurch, who has been the guest of Mrs. Gilbert Archey, Parnell, has returned home. Lady Leys, Victoria Avenue, Remuera, will leave by the Aorangi on April 2 for Vancouver, en route to England. / Mrs. A. D'Arcy. Brighton Road, Par.Hell, and/Mrs. W. L. Walker, Hanger, will leave to-morrow on a visit to Rotorua. Mrs. George Westbury, Remuera, Miss A. B. Lambie and Miss E. McKee, Wellington, are at Hotel Mon Desir, TaSapuna.
Mm. R. A. Fletcher, Orakei Road, Remv.era, will leave on Thursday for Wellington to connect with the Rangitiki for England.
Mrs. Hugh Kasper, Auckland district president of the Women's Christian Temperance Union, left on Saturday to attend the Dominion convention •at Dunedin.

The annual meeting of the associate branch of the National Council of Women,// took place in the_ council's rooms' yesterday afternoon. Mrs. E. R. Turner was re-elected president for the ensuring year and Mrs. J. Hollingsworth secretary.
The annual general meeting of the !Auckland Piano Students' Association ■was held last evening. The election of officers resulted: President, Miss Jeanne Fogerty; interim secretary, Mrs. J. Herbert: treasurer and librarian, Miss Ailsa Walker; committee, Miss Joyce Parker and Miss Marie Jagusch. Plans for the work to be carried out during the coming year were discussed and programmes outlined. It was decided to hold the meetings once a month instead of fortnightly, as ifi the past. t
A dance and five hundred card tournament was held by the Waiheke Returned Soldiers' Association in. the Surfdale Hall on Saturday evening. There was an attendance of fully 200 guests from all parts of the island. The card winners were: —Mrs. Jenkins, Onetangi, and Mr. Frankhn, 1. Consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs. Crouth/ Surfdale, and Mr. Dickie, Palm Beach. Similar evenings will be held at intervals throughout the winter months.
An enjoyable farewell party was given to Mrs. Lambert yesterday afternoon in the George Court Tea Rooms by the ladies committee of the Kentish Association. As Sergeant Lambert, with Mrs. Lambert, is leaving this week for Hamilton, to which place he has been transferred, the arrangements for_ the farewell had to be made very hurriedly A bouquet was presented to Jtfrs. Lambert by Mrs. Langstone and the good wishes c>f the gathering were expressed. Those present included: —Mrs. Lambert, Mrs. Langstone, Mrs. Webster, Mrs. J. W. Jenks, Mrs. Bush, Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Robinson and Mrs. J. A. Jenks.
A special afternoon's entertainment arranged by Mrs. Raeburn and Mr. A. Hamblin was given to the young people of Ward 20 at the Public Hospital on Saturday afternoon. The programme was given by Madame Powdrill's Junior Orchestra, and a very happy afternoon was spent by the patients. Taking part were: —Misses Patricia Jones. Norma Findlay, Freda and Hester Fortune, Joan Ottoway, Janet Hefferman, Lei Greig, Shirley Collier, Annie Steinberg, Merle Porteous, Rita Mortimer, Masters Freddy Brenan, Noel Kirkpatrick and James Cosgrove. Madame Powdrill was the accompanist. > '
