ALLEGED ASSAULT

MAN FOUND ON ROADSIDE POLICE DISBELIEVE STORY LONDON, Feb. 26 A miner, named Fislnvick, aged 32, was found on the roadside at Durham shot in the back. He alleged that a man in a motor-car attacked and robbed him. Fishwick's life was despaired of when he was taken to hospital, but he recovered. He was immediately arrested and charged with being a public nuisance. The police stated that Fishwick's story .was a tissue of lies made up, apparently, for the sake of notoriety. The police inquiries cost several hundred pounds, Tho defence pleaded that Fisliwick was suffering from dolusions. The Judge deferred sentence till the end of the Assizes.
