SCOUT RADIO STATION
FIRST IN THE EMPIRE OPENING IN CHRISTCHURCH [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday Tho official opening of the radio station ZH3H2, owned and operated by the North Beach Bover Soout crew, took place last evening in the presence of Colonel Granville Walton, representing Imperial scout headquarters, f To the North Beach troop falls the honour of being the first troop in the British Empiro to own its own shortwave receiving and transmitting apparatus. It is also believed to be the first scout-operated set in the world. The apparatus cost £6O, an amount raised by the scouts. It works on the 80-metro band.
