AUSTRALIANS «IN DUNEDIN

The Victorian tennis players A. A. Kay and It. W. Ewin played exhibition matches hero yesterday. Kay defeated C. Angas, South Island champion (who won the Dominion title in 1929 and 1931), in a rubber in which the Australian always had something in reserve, although Angas played well, especially in the first and Inst seta. Ewin beat the Otago champion, G. A. Pearce, in straight sets, and was never troubled. In the doubles the' Australians outclassed Angas and Pearce, winning in 12 minutes, in two love sets. Details were:—

Singles.—Kay beat Angas, 4—6, 6—o, 6 —4 i Ewin beat Pearce, 6—3, 6—4.

Doubles.—Kay and Ewin beat Angas and Pearco, 6—o, 6—o; Kay and Ewin beat Angas and Boddy, 6—2, 6—2.
