That William Janies Webb, aged 23, single, was accidentally killed in the bush at Lake ICanieri, 12 miles from Hokitika, on Saturday evening by John Frederick Andrews, who fired a rifle at what he thought- was a deer, but which struck Webb, killing; him instantly, was the verdict returned by the coroner at the inquest yesterds.y. The men had go;ie out in different directions, and it is not known how deceased came to the locality where the fatality occurred.
