ANNIVERSARY REGATTA The issue of Thi: Weekly News which is published :C'-day is another highly-interesting publication, and the illustrations in the central pictorial section cover a wide range of attractive and topical subjects. Auckland's annual Anniversary Day Regatta last week i:i recorded on the double page by a fins selection of pictures which do ample justice to the spectacle provided by this great harbour pageant of yachting and launching. Photographs taken at Saturday's regatta at Kawau are published on another page. Summer cruising in the North and South is the subject of this week's frontispiece illustrations, which cover the cruise of the Waiganella in Northern waters and thafc of the Marama to the Marlborough Sounds. A page of snapshots on the final day of the Dominion lawn tennis championship tournament ma*<;s an interesting feature, while on another full page are photographs of the Duke of Gloucester fishing at the Bay of Islands and his departure for Fiji. Interesting topical features, other than the usual quota of miscellaneous illustrations, include notable weddings in Wellington, Chris.;church and Invercargill, the English girl cricketers' match at Auckland, further damage from fires in the W?ikato district, and Ngaruawahia Maoris farewelling the Governor-General.

In the news pageii of the issue, besides full accounts of current news items, exclusive articles on racing topics are contributsd by Archer and Spearmint. A specif.l page is devoted to an article on the mystery of the Mary Celeste and another page to the sixth of a series of "inside" stories from Scotland Yard. There is also a short stoiy and further instalments of two serials, in addition to features of feminine interest and articles and news specially concerning the man on the land.
