MOTOR-CAR OVERTURNS

ACCIDENT AT WESTFIELD OCCUPANTS SERIOUSLY HURT While travelling southward along the Great South Road at about 8 o'clock last night, near the Westfield overhead bridge, a motor-car driven by Mr. J. Patton, aged 48, married, of 4 Kotare Avenue, Grey Lynn, overturned and struck a power pole. Mr. Patton suifered head injuries, and a passenger, Mr. V. De Thierry, aged about 32, married, of 1 Finlay Street, Ellerslie, fractured both legs. The injured men were taken in a St. John ambulance to the Auckland Hospital. The condition of Mr. De Thierry is serious, and Mr. Patton's condition is fairly serious. •
