WEEK-END ATTRACTIONS
A VARIED PROGRAMME RACING AT ELLERSLIE Varied attractions are offering in Auckland this week-end, and much interest will be taken in the opening of the Takapuna Jockey Club's Summer Meeting at the Ellerslie Racecourse today. The New Zealand lawn tennis championships, in which many prominent players are engaged, will continue at the Stanley Street courts. First-grade cricket matches' will be played at Eden Park and North Shore, while there are many club and inter-club events for bowlers. Harbour races will be held by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, the Ponsonby Cruising Club and the Manukau Cruising Club, while the Manukau Yacht and' Motor-Boat Club will conduct a race to Cornwallis.
Races for fours will be held by the Auckland, Waitemata and St. George's rowing clubs, while the North Shore Club will hold a contest for naval whalers. Cycling events will be conducted by the Manukau Amateur Club at Western Springs Stadium, and the Auckland Club at the Papatoetoe Stadium.
