MANUKAU AMATEUR CLUB HOUSE CUP TO L. H. DWIGHT Tho. Manukau Amateur Cycling Club held its tenth annual five miles track race for the House Cup last evening at the Western Springs Stadium. There were twenty starters and the three limit riders, R. G. Whitley, S. McLellan and J. Stewart, were given a start of 480 yards bv the scratch pair, A. G. Patrick and J. W. Clark. Just after the half-way mark ten riders shared the lead with J. G. Laurence, 380 yds, forcing the pace, while the back-markers, Clark, Patrick and L. H. Dwight, were gradually overhauling their field. With three laps to go the scratch men wore with tho leaders and, with 15 riders bunched, the pace slowed slightly. Entering the final lap C. T. Dwight and Laurence were abreast in front, but down the back straight L. H. Dwight and Patrick moved up. Dwight led off the home banking and was first into the straight with over a clear length advantage on Patrick.
