CONVERSION OF CYCLES

PROBATION FOR YOUNG MAN [FROM OCR OWN correspondent"] HAMILTON, Monday "I have obtained a full report from the probation officer, and it appears you have been somewhat of a spoilt and wilful bo.v," said Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M., in the Hamilton Police Court today when Noel Smith, aged 22, mechanic, appeared for sentence on three charges of unlawfully converting bicycles to his own use between December 8 and December 19 last. The magistrate added that he should send accused to prison for a period, but, having regard to his present circumstances, he did not want to do that. Accused was placed on probation for two years.
