SEARCH MADE OF HOUSE DETECTIVES ARREST SUSPECT Within a few hours of the receipt of a complaint of burglary at Remuera, Auckland detectives made an arrest in the city yesterday. The house entered was that of Mr. G. Fleming, 92 Remuera Road, articles to the value of £157 being taken. They included a platinum and diamond ring valued at about £IOO, and valuable furnishings. The occupiers cf the home were absent at the time o£ the theft, which is believed to have occurred on Wednesday evening. The offence was discovered when a gardener noticed that a window at the back of the house had been forced open. There was evidence that the home had been thoroughly searched.
Detective-Sergeant- McHugh and Detective Miller arrested a suspect in Wellesley Street West yesterday afternoon. The stolen property has been recovered. The suspect, a middle-aged man, is to appear in the Police Court this morning.
