:— Among the . many Christmas parties for children held in the district during -the last few days, none proved more enjoyable than that organised by the committee of the Cambridge Plunket Society. A large Christmas tree hung with toys, games, a real "Father Christmas" and a hugp party tea, gave the little folk a delightful afternoon. Among those present were: —Mesdames M. A. Bell (president), T. F. 'Richards, P. T. Glanville, E. H. Leigh, C. W. Clark, N. Waddle, G. G. Bell, R. S. Hanna, A. J. S. Richardson, F. Swayne, C. Wood, A. R. Batchelor, C. W r . Venncll. F. Lamb (Hamilton), J. Clemow, H. P. Darby, Jackson, Kemp, T. Cubis, Paton, Edwards, H. N. Freeman, W. Cubis, W. Smellie, J. G. Catran, H. Ferguson, H. E. Amyes, Miller, I. Fairbrother, Nodder, Harris, Fen ton, Misses F. E. Hooker (secretary). G. Brann and Nurses Hooker and Cliff Hamilton. The F!ev. and Mrs. C. W. Chandler, Mount Morgan, Queensland, have arrived in Cambridge. Mr. Chandler is the new vicar'of St. Andrew's Parish. .Airs. W. >T. Ward, patron of the Cambridge Competitions Society, has given up executive connection with the society after many years of service, during which she has been both vice-presi-dent and president. Miss A. T. S. Hanlin has been elected a vice-president of the society. Among the teachers who severed their connection with various district schools at the end of the school year were Miss S. McGarroll. infant mistress at the Leamington School tor nine and a-half years, who is to be married, Miss I. Foster, headmistress of the Goodwood School, who is also resigning, and Miss Pickett, of the Whitehall School, who has been transferred. Visitors to Cambridge for the, Christmas holidays include: —Mrs. D'Ath, oi Papa toe soe, who is staying with her f sister, Mrs. A. N. Macky, Air. and Airs. H. J. White, of Wellington, who are the guests of .Mr. and Mrs. G. G. L. Tnvlor. Mr. and Mrs. C. Mills, of lakapu'na, Mr. and Mrs. N. Densell, Epsom, end Miss Gilniour, Epsom. With the coming of Christmas a genera I exodus to the beach has take;] place in Cambridge. Among those who i are enjoying the sun and surf at Auckland arc Mr. and Mrs. W, R. and Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Nicoll, who are at Milford, Air. and Mrs. A. N. Willis at Thome's Bay, Mr. and Mrs. H. 1). Dall'morc'and family, Takapima. and Mrs. F. R. W'ioldridgc, who has gone to .Onetaugi, Waiheke. Other Cambridge visitors to Auckland for the holidays include Misg Ruth , White, the Misses G. and S. Brann. j Mr. and Airs. B. Brewer and Miss Jean Brewer.
