FARM MANAGER'S DEATH

The body of Edward Christen sen, aged 42, manager of Mr. R. W. Smith's farm, State Farm Road, was found in a woolshed near his house at about 6.30 this morning with a gunshot wound in the head and a double-barrelled shotgun alongside the body. Tho gun contained an empty cartridge. Deceased was a married man with two children. Evidence at the inquest showed that deceased had been a great sufferer from asthma and had had a bad attack during the night. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased had died from laceration of the brain caused by a gunshot wound self-inflicted.
