TRIBUTE FROM MAORIS [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] ROTOKUA. Friday An illuminated address, from Maoris living in districts from Tamaki to the North Cape, was presented yesterday to the former Minister of Native Affairs, Sir Apirana Ngata. In the address, which was presented by Mr. L. W. Parore, reference is made to the former Native Minister's conception of the Maori land settlement scheme and to the successful realisation of the system. The hope is expressed that, he will be long spared to lead the native race, and it is said that there is still much to do. "Remain, then, as our protecting totara," concludes the address:
