TRADE WITH GERMANY
BRITISH DIFFICULTIES POINTS BEING DEALT WITH (Received Decembe:: 12, 5.5 p.m.) British "Wireless RUGBY, Dec. 11 Asked in the House of Commons if the Anglo-German trade agreement was working satisfactorily and if he was aware that exporters were finding it difficult to / trade with Germany owing to the difficulty on the part of some German importers iu obtaining import certificates, Mr. D. J. Colville, Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department, said it was the case that difficulties of the character 1 referred to were experienced in connection with the early working of the agreement. These points, however, had been taken up as they arose with the German authorities by the British Embassy at Berlin, and he understood that the arrangements were working on the whole satisfactorily. Mr. Colville, questioned about the Anglo-German payments agreement made on November 1, said this also was so far working satisfactorily, and, including £400,000 paid when the agreement was signed, approximately £1,400,000 had now been made available by the German Government toward the liquidation of outstanding trade debts. Further sums would become available from time to time according to the terma of the agreement
