It was reported that 15 miles of main highways had been added in No. 4 district, which comprises Poverty Bay and the coast. Of this the Waikohu County had been allotted only a mile and a-half on the Puha-Whatatutu road, yet North Auckland, it was stated, had been provided with 108 additional miles, compared with 15 miles for the whole of the Poverty Bay and East Coast areas.
