FEWER BANKRUPTCIES

FIVE IN NOVEMBER LOWER FIGURE FOR YEAR A substantial decrease in the number of bankruptcies filed in Auckland during the 11 months of this year is shown in comparison with tho figures for the previous four years. Five bankruptcies were filed last month, bringing the total for the year to 46. as against 63 for the first 11 months of 1933. Altogether 99 bankruptcies were filed during the corresponding period of 1932, while relative figures for 1931 and 1930 were 121 and 131 respectively. Petitions filed last month were those of a tobacco corporation, an investment company, a contractor, a motor mechanic and a printer. There were six bankruptcies in the previous month, while five were filed in November of last year. Following are details of bankruptcies in Auckland in the first 11 months of the past five years:
