AIR MAIL SERVICE

SINGAPORE TO BRISBANE types of craft approved (Received November 26, 9.45 p.m.) SYDNEY, Nov. 28 The Federal Minister of Defence, Mr. R. A. Parkhill, has approved tho temporary use of the Atlanta type oif fourengined aircraft on the Darwin-Singa-pore section of the air mail route, and the existing fleet of DH6I aeroplanes on the Darwin-Brisbane section, although there is still a prospect that DHB6 machines will be used on the latter section on the opening date. Mr. Parkhill added that the company was averse to using them until doubts raised by the recent accident had been entirely dispelled. It did not seem possible that investigations into the accident would be completed by the opening date on the Darwin-Singa-pore section.
