OVERSEAS LEAGUE
THE SOCIAL CIRCLE The open evening of the Social and Welfare Circle of the Overseas League was held in the league rooms last evening. This circle was formed a short time ago by the younger members of the league with the intention of carrying out social service work such as assisting St. John Ambulance with clothing, etc., providing needy cases with necessities, and carrying out activities of a kindred nature. The convener is Miss M. Montgomery; the secretary, Miss M. Collins; and the committee, Miss L. Dunnett, Miss D. Gill, Miss A. Munro, Miss I. Stichburv, Miss Wliineray, Miss Shepherd, Miss Slade, Miss Mackie and Miss Hooker. The programme provided for last evening's entertainment included a one-act play, elocution, musical items, bridge and dancing. Paper caps worn by members and guests gave bright touches of colour to the rooms, .which were arranged with bowls of early summer flowers. Supper brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
