TAKAPUNA MEETING
PLACE fancies succeed seven return dividends DANCING LADY'S SURPRISE favourites - performed very successfully at Ellerslie yesterday, when the spring meeting of the Takapuna Jockey Club was concluded under perfect weather conditions. Four first fancies on th e win machine won, and no fewer than seven out of eight on the place > machine returned dividends, the sole exception being Harvest Moon in the Stanley Hack Handicap. Tb'o only surprise victory was scored bv Dancing Lady in the Vauxhall Hack Handicap, investors receiving a doublefigures win dn ideiid. "The attendance was estimated at between 4000 and 5000. Totalisator investments amounted to £19,603, compared with £21,101- on the second day last vear when the meeting was held on the 'Takspuna racecourse, a decrease of /•1*493, The turnover for the meeting was £44,759 10s, against £42,956, an increase of £IBO3 10s.
