AUCKLAND HOME SERVICE
The first monthly meeting of the new financial year of the Auckland Home Service Association was held yesterday. Mrs.-J. T. F. Mitchell was elected president 'for the coming year, Mrs. G. CJruickshank secretary, Mrs. John Cook chairman of executive and Mesdames T. Derrick, J. J. Kingston, 6. S. CammeH, A. Martin Ross, H. S. Gulliver and H. W. Airey, vice-presi-dents. A new committee member, Mrs. R. Smale was welcomed by the president. Membership and financial returns showed that the association was in a much better position than & year ago. The month had been very busy in the office, a large number of calls having been received for emergency help and for housekeepers to take charge of cases of sickness. The sending of housekeepers to take charge of families was a matter requiring much thought and care and each case was found to occupy a considerable amount of time. The committee expressed thanks to Miss A. Basten who had again acted as honorary auditor.
