EMPIRE GEOGRAPHY
Sir, —I fed sure that the many old English public and other school boys now resident in New Zealand will smile at Sir James Parr's recent statement that "Britain is grossly and unpardonably ignorant regarding the Empire." I, for one, consider that Sir James Parr's remark is anything but diplomatic or creditable to New Zealand. Unfortunately, my experience is that in Britain too much attention is given to the red part of the map of the world and too little to other parts. Then again, Britishers spend most of their time in minding their own business and let others mind their own business, whereas we, in New Zealand, have not sufficient business to mind, so we spend our time in trying to teach others ideas we foolishly imagine they do not know. We, in New Zealand, instead of trying to pull the mote out of the other fellow's eye, should be thankful that today Britain is an object lesson to the whole world. Old Public School Boy.
