LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

Mount Albert. —A record .attendance of members and friends, including representatives from St. Luke's Mothers' Union, joined in celebrating the eighth birthday of the Mount Albert League >of Mothers. Mrs. M. Turner was in the chair and sitting on the platform were Mrs. It. G. Coats, Mrs. Wright, Mrs. Barnes, and Mrs. F. Mcßride. Mrs. Turner welcomed the visitors, among whom were members from Mount Roskill, Dominion Road and Sandringhain branches. A musical programme was rendered by Mrs. Owen, Mrs. Mcßean and Miss 0. Thomas. Bobbie Dee, a little girl of three years, delighted everyone with recitations. During the afternoon tea session, Mrs. Mcßride, on behalf of the members, presented the president, Mrs. Turner, with a silk umbrella. Mrs. Guthrie contributed the thought for the month, and Mrs. Hotchin convened afternoon tea. A competition was won by Mrs. Hotchin and Mrs. Boyle.
