CASE AT GISBORNE [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION'] GISBORNE. Saturday In the Police Court to-day Frederick Francis Charles O'Connor, aged 26, appeared on a charge that at Hamilton on October 11, with intent to defraud, he obtained from the Waikato County Council a cheque for £lO 7s 3d by means of the false pretence that he was E. Coleman, farmer, of Matangi, and that the amount was due to him tor royalty on land.

A remand until next Saturday was granted on the application of the police.
