DATE OF THE ELECTION

MR. F. LYE'S OPINION [from our owx correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Saturday Interviewed at Cambridge, Mr. F. Lye, M.P., said he could see no possibility of a general election taking place before next November. At one time he had thought there might be an election.before the winter, but circumstances had made him change his views. As the Agriculture (Emergency Powers) Act had now been passed, providing for the reconstruction of the Dairy Board and the setting up of an executive commission, it appeared to be only reasonable, said Mr. Lye, that the reorganisation of the industry should be undertaken with representation from the Government which had been responsible for the special legislation.
