AMATEUR ATHLETICS

MEETING AT THE DOMAIN HILL WINS STEEPLECHASE FINLAYSON'S PERFORMANCES Beautiful weather prevailed yesterdays when a large crowd of interested spectators witnessed a splendid programme of athletics held at the Domain in connection with the annual Labour Day celebrations. The running and cycling tracks wero in good order, but the times registered were not fast. At times the officials had considerable difficulty in keeping the sports ground clear There were no accidents, however, and the programme was put through to schedule. There were 110 outstanding performances in the running events among the men competition. In the ladies handicap raLea. Uisa M. Mullina won both the 10 and 1(10 yards events. A. G. Hill registered a goud performance in winning the steeplechase from scratch.
