LABOUR DAY TOURNEYS CLUBS' VARIOUS EVENTS Most bowling clubs in Auckland held open tournaments yesterday but a number confined plav to club fixtures. Following were the section winners and finalists:— AUCKLAND CLUB A progressive pairs tournament was held on the Auckland Bowling Club'a green yesterday. Results were:— Winning skips. Gilles and Bourke; winning leads, J M. Williams and Clayton. REMUERA CLUB The winners in the progressive fours tourney held yesterday by the Remuera Bowling Club were as follows:—Leads. Bolton; seconds. Walker and Thronsen tied: thirds, Dempsey and Brook tied; skips, Coe. BALMORAL CLUB A full-rink tourney held by the Balmoral Bowling Club yesterday resulted a3 follows: —Section A. W. H. Clarke; section B, Chappell. The final will be played at a later date. EPSOM CLUB A full-rink tournament was held by the Epsom Bowling Club yesterday, the section winners being:—Section A, Clarke (Carlton); section B. Casey (Carlton) ; section C. Eraser (Mount Eden); section I). Livingstone (Onehuaga); section E, O'Callaghan (Epsom). Livingstone beat Clarke in the first intersection match, and the remaining matches will bo played at a later date. V/A ITEM ATA CLUB An all-day tournament was held oil the Waitemata green yesterday, visiting players including Mr. R. Sheath, president of the New Zeala-nd Bowling Council, while the Auckland Bowling Centre was represented by Mes-srs. F. Ilosking. president. H. Gladding. secretary, and J. Truscott. Results were:— Section A.—S. E. McGill (Waitemata), Jackson (Edendale), W. McKinstrie (Waitemata). R. A. Johnston (Waitemata) and W. Corrin (Waitemata) each had three wins. McGill winning in the play-off. Section B: L. Dick, four wins ONEHUNGA CLUB The Onehunga Club's annua! tournament for the> J.'eilson Challenge Cup was held yesterday. ten rinks competing, dectiou win nera were:— Section A.—Wright, five wins. Section B: Moody, four wins. The final will be played on a date to. be fixed. MOUNT EDEN CLUB Section A.—ln the play-oif of ties, Baker beat Hull and Taylor beat Joll. Taylor beat Baker and won the section. Section B: Tutt won the section outright and will play W. Taylor on a future date. MOUNT ALBERT CLUB Section. A.—Walker (Mount, Albert) four wins, one loss. Section B: Holdsworth (Mount Albert), five wiua. Final: Walker, 17. Holdsworth, 10. RAWHITI CLUB Progressive Pairs Tourney.—Wi-.ner the skips' section was W. Sloncur. with sis wins. A. Martin and C. Keller tied for second place with five wins each. Martin winning the play-off. Lead section: W. Aylett and R. Barker tied with five wins each, Aylett winning the play-off, GREY LYNN CLUB The Labour Day tournament of the Grey Lynn Bowling Clnb resulted as follows: Section A.—E. Buckland R. Caddy, four wins, one loss each. Section B: Mine ham. five wins. Finals ara to bo played at a. later date. HAMILTON AND CLAUDELANDS [by telkgraph—OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday A full-rink tournament was played on the Hamilton green to-day and resulted in a win to.- K. A. Gngg. W. Davidson, W. Lambie land W. Hobinson, 7. Dnvia, Willey, Gall j and Evans (Whitiora 1 ) were runners-up. A progressiva tourney was played on the Claudelands green and resulted as follows:—Skips: A. Webber. 4 wins and I loss. Number J: D. Street, 5 wins. Number '2: H. M. B.rker, 5 wins. Leads: H. J. Patou. 4 wiii3 and 1 loss. OPOTIKI CLUB'S OPENING The official opening of the Qpotiki Bowling Club's gieen took place on Saturday afternoon in tino weather. The president. Mr. £l.
