Boyd-Rochfort, at Newmarket. The three-year-old colt Alcazar, owned by Mr. William Woodward, chairman of the New York Jockey Club, won the Ebor Handicap on August 29 and the Doncaster Cup on September 14. AWAPUNI REPRESENTATIVES TWO ACCEPTORS NOT GOING [BY TETiKGHAPH —own correspondent] PALMEMTON NORTH, Thursday Awapuni siuljles are not as stronsdy represented fct the Wellington spring meeting as might have been anticipated, and two acceptors, Inflation and Beau GaUaiate, will not make the trip. For some little time Inflation has been undergoing sea water treatment at Ofcaki and it has not been possible to give him the necessary work to fit him for his Shorts Handicap engagement. Beau GnJlivnto has been compelled to" forgo the trip for another reason. He has broken down. When he returned from Australia his owner-trainer, G, W. New, was not very hopeful that he would stand a preparation, but he wa3 put back into work eonie time ago. Hopes that he would stand were shattered this morning, when he was very Jnme after galloping With Tommy Atkins to make the pace for hpr, Boudoir was galloped over a mile on the course proper this morning, the flags being about 18ft. out. Tommy Atkins jumped away smartly to run his fitii three furlongs in a little over 3Gs, but he cnmo back to the mare within the next two furlongs and Boudoir was in charge at the top of the. straight, drawing away to complete her task in 1.49 4-5. Boudoir has run some good races at Trentham and she should improve there on her recent displays. After breakfast the Wellesley Stakes candidate Legatee and Alchemic, runnerup to Severe at Allisterton, were associated in a sprint over three furlongs. There was little between them at the distance, but Legatee finished the stronger to hold an advuntage of half-a-lengt.il at the post after running HO 1-5. Severe has left for Trentham. Aiguille, who is engaged in the Wainui Handicap, was galloped with Ebeum over six furlongs. They jumped away raggedly and took 15s for the initial furlong, but got to the end of their task in 1.21 3-5, satisfactory enough time under the circumstances. Aiguille will probably need racing. Ebeum looks very well, but the class ho is opposed to in the October Handicap reads a little too strong for him. Although Balbus figures in the Itimutaka Hack Handicap he will not come in until the second day. In company with Morrath and Bold Jim, Balbus was sent over seven furlongs. He had all the worst of the jump-out. but going along the back straight he worked on terms with Morrath and kept with her to the close in 1.35 1-5. The manner in which Balbus stayed on after giving Morrath a start was attractive. Morrath is to contest th« hurdio race.
