ART EXHIBITION
The spring exhibition of the Auckland Society of Arts, now open in the Kitchener Hall, continues to attract interest, and has many visitors. It is regarded as the best of its kind that the society has held. Work sent in by some of tho younger artists has been much commended, particularly a study of the nude by L. C. Fraser and a head in profile of a Maori girl, "Huia," by W. Jones. Some small oil landscapes bv Lorna Reyburn are interesting exercises in flat pattern. Among the established exhibitors, Ida G. * Eise shows scenes rather different in colour and treatment generally from what might be expected. Lucretia Johnson has an attractive water-colour of bush and snow-covered peaks. The exhibition will close definitely at the end of the week, and th® art union will be drawn at 1.30 p.m. tomorrow.
