MATCH AT OMAHA w A cricket match was played at Omaha on Saturday afternoon between teams representing Omaha and Matnkana, the' latter winning by 34 runs on the first innings. WHANGAREI COMPETITIONS [FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREI, Monday The second series of games in the Whangnrei Cricket. Association's competitions was played on Saturday in splendid weather. The junior competition was successfully launched with six teams participating. This is the first time junior teama have taken part in n cricket competition in Whangnrei. In the senior championship competition Whangarei High School, 129 runs for nine wickets, declared (Miller 48), played Onerahi, which lost, six wickets for 88 (Fyfe 54. not out). The match wrs drawn. Whangarei, 88 (G.inh 39), lost to Combined Services, 95 (Weir 62. not out). For Combined Services Jenynft took five wickets for 25. At Hikurnnrri, Nomads scored 138 (Dunn 45.
