Guiniven, Mayor of Takapuna, returned by the Aorangi yesterday after visiting Sydney on loan conversion business for the Takapuna Borough Council. Dr. C. A. Pittar, a former Aucklander, who has been doing post-gradu-ate work and practising iin England and Australia, returned to Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday. Mr. H. J. D. Mahon was elected by the Auckland University College Council yesterday as one of its representatives in the New Zealand University Senate, in place of the late Sir George Fowlds. Canon R. H. Hobday, who has been part-time lecturer in Greek at Auckland University College for some yeans past, has resigned his appointment aa from the end of the present academio year, as he is to leave for England in February. Mr. W. A. Bodkin, Mr. P. C. Webb, Mr. W. P. Endean, Mr. A. Harris, Mr, W. J. Jordan, Mr. J. A. Lee, Mr. W, W. Massey, A. M. Satnuel, Mr. F. W. Schramm, and Mr. A.
