PRINCE HENRY'S TOUR
LUGGAGE ON THE SUSSEX LOADS FROM THE PALACE [from our own CORRKSI'ONDENT] LONDON, August 31 On board IT.M.S. Sussex are the servants and others attached to Prince Henry's mission—including the Scotland Yard detective who will accompany the Duke of Gloucester throughout the tour. Two lorry loads of luggage, including 45 trunks and suitcases —part of the Duke's luggage—were taken from Buckingham Palace. Polo sticks, golf clubs, squash racquets, portable typewriters, portable gramophones, a wireless set, full-dress military uniforms, official stationery and insignia and decorations are some of the other items included. With him the Duke is taking six British motor-cars for transport when he is ashore. Four of them have already been despatched with their chauffeurs. Two more go with him, so that wherever he travels ashore he will "travel British." Wherever the Sussex makes port the Duke's personal standard will be flown. It is tlie Royal Standard, differenced with a cadency label. This will be the first time the Duke has used it on an Empire tour, as it is his first official visit to the Dominions. THI2 ROTORTJA VISIT MAORIS PLAN WELCOME [ FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTOIiUA, Saturday The Rotorua Maoris are already making plans to welcome the Duke of Gloucester when he visits Rotorua. A meeting of natives was held at Ohinemutu this week to discuss the matter, but nothing definite was done pending the arrival at Rotorua of Mr. H. R. H. Balneavis, private secretary to the Minister of Native Affairs. Sir Apirana Ngata.
