VESSEL'S ROUGH TRIP
NAURU TO AUCKLAND VISIT TO VLADIVOSTOK A very boisterous passage from Nauru, Island to Auckland was experienced by the steamer Tymeric, which arrived late on Saturday night. After leaving Nauru Island on September 10 the vessel experienced continuous strong southerly winds and very rough head seas and a high swell. Seas continually broke on board and kept the decks flooded all the time, but no damage was done. The cargo consists of 7800 tons of phosphates, of which about 4000 tons will be unloaded at Auckland and the remainder at Wanganui. During the five months since the Tymeric left England she has had three bulk cargoes, each of a different kind. She took from England to Tasmania a cargo of anthracite, a by-product of coal and used for the manufacture of carbide. From Tasmania she proceeded to Adelaide and Melbourne and loaded about 6000 tons of flour and 2000 tons of wheat for Vladivostok, Russia. From Russia she went to Nauru Island to load her present .cargo. The officers on the vessel were curious as to why flour and wheat should he exported to Russia, which is one cf th#p largest wheatgrowing countries in th®!; world. - ~ During the Tymeric's stay at vostok the officers of, the vessel vlsl ® e T, the city on numerous occasions, W,j were required to have passports ten®?* landing. An armed soldier the gangway examined the P ass when anybody went on shore and when they returned on board. .
